Initial Assessment

The Initial assessment is one of the most important parts of your treatment plan. A comprehensive physical fitness test is what will be used as your baseline in which to monitor all future progress. The assessment takes about 1 hour and includes a medical questionnaire, body composition measurement, flexibility, strength and cardiovascular fitness tests.

Your initial assessment will also include the Functional Movement Screen (FMS). The FMS assesses your ability to complete 7 different movement patterns. These movement patterns are designed to determine your succeptability to injury during sport, activity and every day life.

Following the test we will give you a summary of your results and we will discuss the goals in which you would like to achieve. This will help us develop an appropriate exercise prescription in which we will follow until your goals are reached and also appropriate corrective exercises for the FMS.

Exercise Prescription

Based on initial assessment and fitness goals we will develop a comprehensive exercise prescription for you. The prescription will be used as your guidline to getting fit. Information reguarding the type of exercises, the intensity of exercise and the frequency of exercise will all be included in your exercise prescription. We can also discuss potential diet change and healthy cooking options in order to help you progress towards your goals faster! You can choose to follow the exercise presciption on your own or have us help you through them at our clinic.

Exercise Sessions

Exercise sessions are structured to keep you interested and engaged. We will design your exercise program so every session is enjoyable for you. You can choose session lengths ranging from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours.
